挿画のお仕事をさせて頂きました。

(エル・コシマノ著 辻早苗訳 / 東京創元社) 。
原題は「Finlay Donovan is killing it」。
ミステリーの舞台は、アメリカ。以前暮らしていたこともあり、場面のイメージが想像できてとても楽しいお仕事をさせて頂きました。
フィンレイのキャラクターをうまく引き出せていたら嬉しいと思います。
クールなブックデザインは藤田知子さんです。
書店で見かけたら手に取ってみてください。

ギャラリーハウスMAYA最後の授業は、デザイン事務所アルビレオさんから出された課題でした。「フランス人は１０着しか服を持たない」。プロの装丁家の方のデザインで原画がもっと素敵になりました。楽しかったです。ラフを何枚か描いて最終的にこのイメージに決まりました。

I take the class at the Gallery Maya in Aoyama since last December. The instructor is a talented designer Idea Oshima. I really like the way he teaches, which reminds me of the school days at School of Visual Arts. Each assignment was very fun, but very tough. Here is the one of assignment ” Skinny guy and chubby guy were fighting for some reason” . I could choose any situation and any type of person, but it should be render the situation instantly. My idea came from TORIO LOS PNCHOS.
